Lot 013 – 1921 / 1928 Thompson Canvas Cavalry Gun Case – Rusco

Original 1921 / 1928 Thompson Submachine Gun Canvas Cavalry Case known as the B and B1 case, manufactured by Rusco (as marked on the inside top flap). This case as used for mounted personal has a D Ring sewn on the rear to attach to a horses harness. This particular one was from a police force and was slightly modified by having the closing strap carefully removed from the magazine pouch on the front (to make it easier to remove the additional 20 round magazines for use when attached to the horses harness (most likely the strap was too far down to reach and use while mounted). Shows some wear and soiling on the rear from use but the rest is clean with no rips or holes. The shoulder strap is present and shows little wear (possibly not used when mounted). There seems to be many more of the non-mounted versions (A and A1 version) of this case then those for mounted use.
