Original WW2 Australian Manufactured 45 Automatic Cartridges in their Original Box Dated 1943 in un-issued condition. In the early stages of WW2 most likely Australia was using Lend Lease US Ammunition as was Britain and many others were, then several Commonwealth Countries began their own 45 Automatic Cartridge Manufacturing – Canada and Australia for certain (even China produced some of their cartridges during WW2). Both Canada and Australia chose “unusual” quantity ammunition boxes for their cartridges, Canada went to 42 rounds which was the same as the Russian Lend Lease boxes and Australia went to 24 Cartridge Boxes. The Cartridges were produced in 1943 and 1944 in the MG Footcray Factory, this box has stamped on the cover – 24 CARTRIDGES S.A. BALL .450 M.G. and 3 boxes for the ink date stamped information, this lot is from 1943. Complete with original ammunition and has been double shrink wrapped.
