WW2 Remington Arms Corporation .45 Shot Cartridge Box labeled with “Effective Range of 25 Feet”. The M15 designated shot cartridges were developed by Remington Arms Company of Ilion, NY. to replace the earlier M12 Shot Cartridges as requested by the US Government in 1943. The M12 was a copy of the earlier 1920’s Shot cartridge (they were manufactured by the Peters Cartridge Company of Bridgeport, CT.) the military version was manufactured by Evansville Chrysler Ordnance Plant. The problem being the paper head holding the pellets would swell with humidity and break apart. The M15 Cartridge design fixed this issue by having a tapered head with a sealant to hold the pellets in. Officially issued to the Airforce for survival use to hunt small game and issued in the B-2 and B-4 Survival Kits but I can imagine the odd Thompson fired some of these rounds.
This box is in excellent un-issued condition, sealed and complete and has been shrink wrapped to preserve it.
