WW2 production of a Thompson Leather Motorcycle Scabbard which were produced by a number of manufacturers, used on the Harley Davidson WLA and mounted on the left hand side of the front forks in a metal bracket, held in by leather straps. This scabbard gave easy access to the Thompson by the rider since the top was open.
This Scabbard is dated 1941, manufactured by Milwaukee Saddlery Company (also known as MILSCO) in Milwaukee , WI. who also made motorcycle and tractor seats, then weapon items such as scabbards and pistol holsters during WW2. This scabbard has an unusual history, it has been converted for use on a horse and was used by the 10A Cavalry Troop E, they were part of the Pennsylvania National Guard – 104 Cavalry. It is well stamped and has had some straps attached to it, in excellent used condition and complete (as modified). A sheet with National Guard information is included with it.
