WW2 Thompson M1 Internal Receiver Parts Set Complete, not the M1A1 but the correct period M1 parts, the M1 having a very short life span before the M1A1 superseded it. The first prototype M1 was ready for Government testing (designed and manufactured by Savage Arms Corporation of Utica, NY.) in Feb 1942 and passed all the Government testing in March 1942, finally being approved in April 1942. It was only a few months after this that the M1 was superseded by the M1A1, it was simply a matter of saving time manufacturing and therefor costs to the US Government that the M1 was changed to the M1A1 very quickly, even the 1928 went through a series of “parts cheapening” before it was superseded by the M1 then the M1A1 (the 1928 first was reclassified as limited procurement until the new model was in full production.
All the parts are in NOS un-issued condition except the Bolt appears to have possibly been in a gun for a few rounds only, but it is basically perfect and unusual being nickeled steel not blued steel.
