WW2 US Manufactured . 45 Automatic Cartridge Box, plain cardboard box (no markings) with 42 Cartridges sealed, this box came out of a Russian “sardine” style tin, produced by Winchester or Remington who were the makers of the early British Lend Lease Ammunition. These were produced under the Lend Lease Act and shipped to Russia in huge numbers., and just like the magazine pouches have no markings on them at all except the outside of the tin listed them as 11, 43 mm cartridges for ease in identification since they used these “sardine Style” tins for various caliber ammunition. The cartridge’s are most likely 1941 / 42 or 43 dated – I have had all 3 Head Stamps from other opened boxes, both Winchester and Remington manufacture, not sure which these are since it is a sealed box in un-issued condition.
