WW2 Original Evansville Wooden Crate which contained 1200 – 45 Cartridges in (2) 600 round tins, the crate is empty and complete, it is a mid war version of ammunition crate. When the war started the 45 caliber Wooden Cartridge Crates contained 2000 cartridges in (2) 1000 cartridge cardboard boxes, then they went to a Wooden Crate containing 1800 cartridges (2) 900 cartridge boxes (very short lived version) and finally this version of 1200 Cartridges in (2) 600 cartridge steel tins.
This Wooden Crate is complete with lid and wing nuts etc, the graphics are excellent and very clear on 2 sides and the lid, will display really well. These are getting harder to find, most crates unless left over after the war can be found, any issued boxes were broken and burned during the war, unless saved by chance to store something.
