Original US Thompson Magazine Pouch with Shoulder strap and made popular by the Movie “Saving Private Ryan” when Tom Hanks used one to carry his Thompson Magazines. This pouch was issued for Thompson’s but could be used for a variety of items. Grease Gun Magazines will fit but not well, too long so they made a new version for the Grease gun later in the war with a few changes – drain hole in the bottom and a much wider shoulder strap. These Thompson pouches were manufactured by a number of different contractors and all have the manufacturers stamping on the rear and U.S on the front bellow the flap.
Made of khaki canvas and ink stamped U.S on the front flap and manufacturer stamped Boyt (Boyt Harness Company in Mason City, IA) and dated 1943 on the rear of the pouch, in perfect un-issued condition and one of the more desirable marked pouches to find.
