Original WW2 production .45 ACP Cartridge Box plus 6 original cartridges from the box deactivated, the original box manufactured in Canada originally containing 42 cartridges. As with many of the British Commonwealth Countries involved in WW2, various caliber cartridges were made in their home country (Australia as an example) and used throughout the war even though Canada did receive Lend Lease supplies from the US.
This cartridge box is in good condition but has tape on it, but is complete. The 6 cartridges are Head Stamped D A 42 (Dominion Arsenals 1942) with a red paint stripe I put on them to indicate they have been deactivated. Dominion Arsenal was the first Canadian Government Arsenal to manufacture Cartridges and Proof Firearms starting back in 1882 in Quebec with a second plant opened in WW1 to make Small Arms Ammunition vin Ontario. The Ontario Plant is most likely the location where these were made. Stamped on the box is – 42 Cartridges S.A. Ball .45 A.C. , the box is shrink wrapped to help preserve it.
